The Legends of Poker Tournament was the 4th stop of Season Six of the WPT. The next stop is at the Beau Rivage Casino. Harrington also collected a $25,000 WPT Championship event seat, and a $10,000 seat in next year’s Legends of Poker. The Legends of Poker tournament drew a field of 485. Heads up play between Harrington and David “The Dragon” Pham lasted three hours before Harrington prevailed. Pham took home over $800,000 for his second place finish. Finishing 3rd was Thu Nguyen who picked up just over $388,000. Tom Schneider finished 4th and picked up just over $228,000. Mike McClain finished 5th and collected just over $182,000 while Shi Jia Liu finished 6th and collected just over $137,000. The final hand of the poker tournament came when Harrington bet 400k on a flop of 4-5-10 and was called by Pham. The turn card was an Ace and Harrington bet $1 million. Pham called and turned over 7-5 for two pair but Harrington had 10-5 for a better two pair. The river card was a Jack and Harrington was the champ. The Bicycle Casino was host to the Legends of Poker tournament which began on August 25th. The total prize pool for the event topped $4.6 million dollars. The tournament had many of the top pros in the world including Doyle Brunson, Barry Greenstein, and Scotty Nguyen. It also had the last two WSOP winners, Jerry Yang and Jamie Gold. The final table had WSOP Player of the Year Tom Schneider, David "Dragon" Pham, Mike McClain, Thu Nguyen, and Jack Liu in addition to Harrington. The 2nd place finisher, David Pham moved to the top of the Player of the Year standings as tabulated by Card Player magazine. The 2007 Legends of Poker was filmed by the World Poker Tour and will be aired on GSN in early 2008. |
