World Series of Poker results are rolling in from the 2008 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, Nevada. The early tournaments are attracting a lot of entrants including a record number of 3,929 in Event #2, the $1,500 No-Limit Holdem event. The prize pool for that event totaled over $5.4 million dollars. The winner was Grant Hinkle who took home $831,279. Event #3 was a $1,500 Pot-Limit Holdem event that was won by poker pro David Singer. He won $214,131. Another poker pro took event #4, the $5,000 Mixed Holdem event. Erick Lindgren won $374,505 for the victory. Event #5 was a $1,000 No-Limit Event with re-buys. Michael Banducci took first place and the $636,736 prize. Event #6 was the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo Split 8 or better tournament and was won by Thang Luu who won $243,356. Event #7 was a $2,000 No-Limit Holdem tournament won by Matthew Keikoan who took home $550,529. Event #8 was the $10,000 World Championship Mixed Event won by Anthony Rivera who pocketed $483,688. Event #9 was the $1,500 No-Limit Holdem 6-handed event won by Rep Porter who took home $372,843. Event #10 was a $2,500 Omaha 7-Card Stud Hi-Lo 8-or-better tournament won by Farzad Rouhani who won $232,911. Event #11 was a $5,000 No-Limit Holdem Shootout tournament won by Phillip Tom who pocketed $477,990. Event #12 was a $1,500 Limit Holdem Event that drew a smaller field won by Jimmy Shultz who won $257,049. Event #13 was a $2,500 No-Limit Holdem tournament won by Duncan Bell who got a nice $666,697 for his win. Event #14 was a $10,000 World Championship 7-Card Stud tournament won by Eric Brooks. He won $415,856 for the victory. This week another 12 tournaments will be completed including the $10,000 No-Limit Heads-Up tourney. That will mean the 2008 World Series of Poker is about half over. There are 55 total events in the World Series of Poker with the main focus on the $10,000 No-Limit main event that starts on July 3rd. |
