McDonald also earned a seat into the EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final with the victory. McDonald started the day as the chip leader and took out Christian Harder with pocket aces against Harder’s Ace-King for the first elimination at the final table. Harder is the first player in EPT history to reach back-to-back final tables. He finished 7th in the last EPT tournament. McDonald picked up another big hand and eliminated another player. His Kings dominated local favorite Johannes Strassmann’s 8-7 and Strassmann went out in 6th place. Earlier Thibaut Durand was eliminated in 7th. Claudio Rinaldi went out in 5th place and picked up €193,000. McDonald eliminated Diego Perez who finished 4th. He also eliminated Torsten Haase who finished third. McDonald had a 3-1 chip lead over local favorite Andreas Gulunay and it didn’t take long for McDonald to win the title. McDonald is only 18 years old but is already making a mark on the poker world. He cashed in the Aussie Millions three times and now is the EPT German Open champ. McDonald became the youngest winner in EPT history. Here is a look at the final table payouts from the German Open:
