Brandon Cantu - $1,000,000 WSOP Europe Dates Set In other poker news, Harrah’s Entertainment announced the dates for the second annual WSOP Europe. It will be held in London, England from September 19th to October 1st. The tournament will again be hosted by London Clubs International and be held at their St. James and Marble Arch locations. “It was a clean sweep for the Europeans last year,” said World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack. “There are many, many talented players in the European poker community and I think it caught some of the world’s best known poker players by surprise. It’s safe to say the pros haven’t forgotten about last year and the young guns should expect a tougher fight in 2008.” Last year’s winner was Norway’s Annette Obrestad. She won over $2 million dollars (U.S.). The WSOP Europe is held after the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas that starts in early May and concludes in mid-July. |
