In online poker, “tells”, (poker slang for clues that poker opponents reveal unintentionally to the rest of the Texas holdem poker players at the poker table), are more difficult to pick up on for online poker players than is the case at an in person poker table. The worst thing that an online poker player can do to give off poker tells is to use the auto play functions offered by online poker websites. The second worst thing that Texas holdem poker players can do to give off tells at a poker table of an online poker website is to chat.

Online poker chat, more often than not, becomes a far more expensive way for Texas holdem poker players to communicate than those afore mentioned cell phone deals as the astute poker players at the poker table love to suck online poker players into chat during poker hands at the poker table and it’s not to become pals but rather, instead, is a weapon used to gather poker information from Texas holdem poker opponents regarding their poker hands.

Many of the newer, more brash, and often younger online poker players at a Texas holdem poker table like to engage is smack/trash talk with their poker opponents with the true intention of trying to trip these players into going on “tilt”, (chasing tough losses on good poker hands), or to lose their cool and misplay future poker hands.
