Online poker players always face the challenge of avoiding distractions at the computer that goes along with playing online poker. One of the devices at online poker websites that feeds into the distraction factor that players must combat is the auto play buttons. The auto play buttons are designed by online poker websites to speed up the Texas Holdem play, which will generate more hands played and more money for the casino site. Far too many Texas Holdem poker players rely on the auto play functions when they are playing and this reliance on auto play ends up costing players a significant amount of money. The problem with using these buttons is that they give away information and cause you to do less thinking about the hand. Poker tells, (clues/hints/signs that poker players inadvertently give away to other players at the table), are more difficult for online poker players to pick up on, but one of the quickest and surest poker tells that is available to online players is the auto play functions, as these are an easy giveaway. A Texas Holdem player utilizing the auto play functions is giving himself up and giving easy reads to the astute and observant opponent at the poker table. It doesn’t take the poker ability of a world class poker player on the World Poker Tour or World Series of Poker to pick up on which types of poker hands a player is holding when that player is utilizing the auto play buttons. Let’s say you have a drawing hand and don’t want to put any more money into the pot. If you automatically click the check button you will give away the strength of your hand. Auto play buttons are great for ease of play but they can easily take away your focus if you are not careful. |
