"We'll actually open the tournament room the week of May 26th for two special events," said Geno Iafrate, vice president and assistant general manager of the Rio. "This 'soft opening' will give players a chance to register early and avoid the lines we had last year during opening weekend -- our busiest time." Fans that love watching the poker Series on television should be aware that ESPN is televising the final table of the 2007 Series this week. The final episode of ESPN’s coverage has the final table of 9 players including the eventual champion, Jerry Yang. The other players at the final table are Danish poker star Philip Hilm, the loud and boisterous Hevad Khan, South Africa’s Raymond Rahme, Russian Alexander Kravchenko, England’s Jon “Skalie” Kalmar, Lee Childs, poker pro Lee Watkinson, Canadian Tuan Lam and Jerry Yang. The one player that ESPN wanted to make the final table just missed out as Scotty Nguyen was eliminated in 10th place. The final table of the 2007 WSOP will show a lot of aggressive poker play led by Jerry Yang and some other interesting play including meltdowns and big draw outs. The final episode airs this week on ESPN and will be repeated throughout the month so be sure and check your local listings for the schedule. *World Series of Poker and WSOP are trademarks of Harrah's License Company, LLC ("Harrahs").
